SUMMER SESSION 2007

Who can sign up for classes?

Anyone with a pleasant singing voice who is thinking about becoming a cantor or who is already a cantor but would like to improve, is encouraged to take these cantor training classes.

What will students study?

Students will study the transformative power of the liturgy from the cantor’s perspective, as well as current vocal technique, emphasizing healthy habits in singing and use of the body.

Students will also sing the music of the liturgy, with an emphasis on psalmody, along with interpretation and arm gesture.

Where? When?

This is a session of four classes.
Classes will be held on Thursdays from 7:00 – 9:00 PM.
Location: Holy Spirit Parish, 2230 Lake Michigan Dr. NW, Grand Rapids. [MAP]

Realizing how busy summer can be, all students should plan to attend the first and last classes. You may choose 2 other classes from the available dates that work in your schedule, for a total of 4 classes!

What is the cost?

The four-class session is $90/student;
NPM-GR chapter members pay only $80/student.
For any student who wishes to attend all five classes in the session, there is an additional fee of $20.
